Oil of oregano is a natural substance that is made from wild oregano plants. Because it is wild, oil of oregano is reportedly made without any additives or chemicals. Naturopaths suggest that oil of oregano can help treat a variety of symptoms and aid in weight loss. Some preliminary research has shown that oil of oregano is a germicide and has antibacterial properties. No scientific research exists that connects oil of oregano to weight loss; however, oil of oregano is purported to help with digestive health and increase metabolic rate which helps lead to weight loss.
