Step 1

Visit your doctor to determine if Periactin is a good option to help you gain weight. Be sure that your doctor has a complete list of all medications you take, including herbal supplements and over-the-counter medications as these may not be compatible with Periactin. Ensure that your doctor has a complete medical history for you so that he can prescribe the proper dose. If you have stomach ulcers, asthma attacks, high blood pressure, glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, hyperactive thyroid or heart disease, you may not be able to take Periactin or you may need an adjusted dose. People who are pregnant and breastfeeding may be advised not to take Periactin.
